Jheadshotoseph H. McClure, Jr. (Joey) of Joseph McClure Commercial Real Estate, L.L.C. has worked in commercial real estate in Birmingham, Alabama, since 1976. Mr. McClure has considerable experience in commercial and investment real estate brokerage and leasing, specializing in tenant/investor representation and  solution creation for problem properties.

Since 1990 his concentration has been in the revitalization of Southside and downtown Birmingham. In August 1989, Joseph McClure Commercial Real Estate (JMCRE) was established. The company’s primarily purpose was to promote downtown Birmingham and not only to participate, but instigate it’s revitalization. By working with the city and what was then “Operation New Birmingham,” JMCRE encouraged investors and tenants to participate in downtown’s rebirth through marketing, acquisition and the renovation of it majestic historic properties. Since that time he has participated in bringing back more than thirty contributing buildings including the first renovations of Atrium/Burger-Phillips Centre,  Paramount, The Harris Building, The Ideal Building, The Vintage Building, The Spencer Building, Bistro 281, Brick and Tin, The Chaiet Building, V. Richards Grocery, the Forest Park Building, the Meelheim Building, the Philippi- Mastin House (built in 1850 in Mobile), the Snyder Building, Redmont Laboratory and Bon Ton Hatter’s. JMCRE is currently developing the new construction of The Way Station, a shelter for homeless youth.

Mr. McClure has been an art photographer since1972 and is an author about to publish his third book.
